It Just Takes Time

For this single I have left the familiar path of ambient and experimental music.
Because I am always looking for challenges on a musical level, there is now a slightly light-hearted poppy track that will be part of my already extensive oeuvre.
After the instrumental version of this song was more or less ready, I felt that something else was missing.
So after some research I came out with the young Taffiny Kablay from Boston.
Taffiny is a talented girl who strives for justice and equality and also writes her own poems.
I came into her poem “A Woman’s Worth” I used this slam-poem in my work, and had contacted Taffiny. Fortunately, she was very excited after listening to the result I had made, and gave me permission to release the single.

The single will be released for streaming and downloading on Bandcamp, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and more on June 16th.

Songs From The Vault

Most people are familiar with my non-vocal music. I’ve released eight albums the past years with instrumental work.
In between the past 30 years, I was also writing songs, but not as my core business.
Some of my vocal performances weren’t to well I know, but the songwriting aspect was fun to create.
One song-album saw the day of light in 2014 “When It’s Gone” and some singles.

Every artist has some kind of secret vault with not-published work, so do I.
After years of doubt, I took all my courage, to decide a public release.
I chose some twenty songs, good enough (maybe) to put on the album.
On 03/22 the album will be available on Bandcamp.com

DJ Nartak’s eighth Nightflight compilation is a symphony for very special moments. Bursting with finest electro-acoustic soundscapes, lovingly selected and framed in 2 mixes with much attention to detail. A new season has begun to make new work.

I do hope, that I can free my mind to be in a creative state of mind, to compose music that reflects my soul.
I also hope to create spare time enough to do so.
A day has only 24 hours to be awake and asleep.
The urge to make new work is getting stronger now the year is getting to it’s end.
The short dark days of autumn stimulates a melancholy that feeds my needs to compose.
I’m not sure whether a collaboration will follow with other artists or not, time will tell.
‘Like It Used To Be’ http://www.mixcloud.com/johantroch1/like-it-used-to-be/
This is the first song I wrote since 8 months, and it feels good.

I have been contacted by Adrian Alejandro Sansalone Muratore from Argentina, who lives in Montevideo Uruguay. Alejandro works in a digital signage project for waiting rooms in Hospitals. He asked me to use my music video’s for 73 LCD connected tv-screens in 20 Clinics in Montevideo.
Although I do not own most of the rights of the video material, only the music on it.
For YouTube and Vimeo, I’ve made an agreement with the video makers, to put their credits along with the video’s.
Their credits will also appear on the exhibiting in those clinics.
Very nice though to know my music will ease the minds of people in Montevideo.
